It’s practically the Christmas season, but I wanted to share a little fall home tour before it gets too late. I don’t typically go overboard on fall decor. I like little accents of fall colors here and there. This year, I added more orange than I normally do and I’ve been enjoying the pops of color. We don’t get a lot of fall foliage here in southern California so it’s nice to infuse some of that bolder color into the more neutral backdrop of our home.
Our open-plan kitchen and living area is the hub of our home. The dining room is just behind the wall where the stove hits, and in the opposite direction is our den. Because these three rooms flow together, I try to make the decor complimentary.
I found the set of fall dish towels at Homegoods. You can see some of my other favorite sources for affordable home decor here.
I love having fresh flowers in our house. Alstroemerias are some of my favorites to use because they’re cheap and they last a long time. I often use white, but this orange bunch was gorgeous in early fall.
When my mom was decluttering her house a while back, I saved this galvanized tin from the donation pile. I filled it with a vintage tea towel that a friend brought me from the Farm Chicks antiques show and some faux pumpkins and gourds from Hobby Lobby.
Some little baby boo pumpkins bring pops of orange into this room and create consistency between the kitchen and den decor.
I got the pumpkin pillow cover at Society6.com. It’s by Lucy from Craftberry Bush, who has beautiful illustrations for all the seasons. At Society6 you can get them from on everything from tote bags to pillow covers to stationery.
These jars were on super clearance in the floral department at Vons one day. They were both less than $3 so I snatched them up.
That wraps up my fall home tour. I hope you enjoyed a peek inside our home!
